indicating our state's progress in the tourism industry.
- Did you know that preliminary numbers show that an estimated 82.5
million people visitedFlorida 2008? That's more than the population
ofNew York,California and Texas
combined.
- Did you know taxable spending in tourism totaled $65 billion in
2007? If you place 65 billion dollar bills end-to-end they would circle
the world 247 times.
- Did you know about 1,007,000 people are directly employed in travel
related jobs? That’s 7 jobs for every 2007Florida high
school graduate.
- Did you know that a 1% increase of visitors to the state generates
approximately $39 million in a year? That is more than a dollar a
second.

billion.
