Committees and Work Groups

Committees

Since VISIT FLORIDA was created in 1996, being an industry-driven organization has been its greatest asset. The best and brightest minds in Florida tourism have helped guide the operations of VISIT FLORIDA to make it the pre-eminent model on how the private and public sectors can successfully work together in support of destination marketing.

What is the purpose of Committees?
VISIT FLORIDA's Board of Directors established committees to enhance and maximize industry input toward fulfilling VISIT FLORIDA's commitment to being "industry-led."

What is each Committee's focus?
The VISIT FLORIDA Committees are Audit, Finance, Marketing Council, and the Industry Services, Small Business and Rural Development Council. Professional background, skill set and current business role are all factors in committee placement.

Who usually serves on a Committee?
Committee members are volunteers dedicated to putting the industry above their own interests as they interact with VISIT FLORIDA's staff. VISIT FLORIDA Partners, including some of the industry's foremost experts, serve on the committees, which meet on a regular basis to recommend strategic actions.

How long is the term for serving on a Committee?
Committee members are appointed annually running congruently with our fiscal year from July 1 - June 30.

What is the time commitment for a Committee?
Typically, the committees convene several times throughout the fiscal year. Often, committees meet via conference call or webinar. Depending on committee, face-to-face meetings may occur as part of VISIT FLORIDA Board of Directors meetings.
