Merry Coffman is the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Pure Florida, a small business with two locations in Naples and Fort Myers. Coffman overseas the daily operations at the Fort Myers location, manages the public relations and marketing efforts and advertising while developing strong community partnerships to create unique and memorable experiences for guests visiting from around the world.
Pure Florida opened the Fort Myers location in 2014 and Coffman was instrumental in the growth in visitation. During that time, Pure Florida Fort Myers has won the Chrysalis Award for Eco-Innovation and become a Certified Guest Service Attraction through the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute. Coffman was the driving force in getting the Pure Florida Naples location as a Florida Certified Visitor Information Center.
Coffman started working in the tourism industry in 2005 as the Marketing Representative at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates, and few years later became the Education Director. At Edison & Ford Winter Estates, a top ten most visited historic home in America, she was proud to have been a part of an award-winning team that diversified revenue by creating new tour experiences, a membership program and engaging engineering educational opportunities from robotics to summer camp, toddler programs to homeschool science classes.
Coffman has served on the Southwest Florida Attractions Association Board of Directors as President, Treasurer and currently as Secretary. She also currently serves on the River District Alliance for Downtown Fort Myers Board of Directors. In both capacities her love of tourism and destination marketing encourages and motivates her peers to be creative and work together to make Southwest Florida a premier destination to visit.
Coffman’s community work extends to volunteering on the Chrysalis Awards Committee, awarding excellence in Business and Tourism partnerships, a founding member of the STEM Tour of Southwest Florida, providing a unique engineering competition for students K –12, and a volunteer at the Love That Dress event to support the Pace Center for Girls.
Coffman has been awarded 40 under 40 from GulfShore Business, the Angel of the Arts Award from the Lee Art Educators Association, and an E-Award, Attractions Category, from the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau.
She is the proud mom of two children, Jackson and Ava and wife to husband, Andrew, who is an elementary science educator. Her family and her friends are the reason for her passion and zest for life and continued desire to create an environment that is an amazing place to live, work and play.
