David Warriner is the president of Tapper and Company Properties Management, Inc., a hospitality and commercial property management company in Port St. Joe, Florida. He and his family own and operate locally The Port Inn, MainStay Suites, Port Inn Hall and Chapel, Tap Root and The Grazin’ Goat. David is managing director for the George G. and Amelia G. Tapper Foundation, a family foundation that serves primarily needs in Gulf, Bay and Franklin counties.
A native Floridian, David attended Bay High School in Panama City. He earned a B.S.B.A. in Finance from the University of Florida in 1986. After graduation he enjoyed a short career in banking then worked as a legislative assistant in both the Florida House and Senate. Mr. Warriner has an extensive background in community service in Bay, Gulf and Franklin County. He is a long-standing member of the Board of Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association where he served as the Chairman of the FRLA PAC Committee and as a member of the Finance Committee. He also serves as the President and Chairman of the Port Theatre Arts and Culture Center, a not-for-profit that was created to acquire, restore and operate the Historic Port Theatre in downtown Port St. Joe. He is a past three-term past chairman of the Gulf County Tourist Development Council and has served since its founding as an Advisory Council Member of the Ascension Sacred Heart on the Gulf Hospital. The success of our hospital and its vital women’s diagnostic center is important to the work and philanthropy of the Warriners’ as Trish, his wife, is a proud breast cancer survivor.
David has volunteered as President and/or director of the Gulf Chamber of Commerce, Education Foundation of Gulf County, Inc., the Early Learning Coalition of Northwest Florida and the Port St. Joe Lions Club. He is the past President of the Gulf Coast State College Foundation and was on their Board for 12 years. Mr. Warriner was appointed by Governor Rick Scott to the Board of Trustees of Gulf Coast State College in February 2013 where he served until December 2022. During his tenure he served for a term as Vice Chairman.
In his free-time David enjoys traveling, playing golf, boating and spending time at their vacation home in Cashiers, NC. He has been married to the former Patricia Marie Tapper for 35 years and has two children Amelia Marie Warriner of Denver CO and David Pearce Warriner Jr. of Port St. Joe.
